Welcome to new members, Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngan, and Mr. Nguyen Thanh Luong

Ms. Nguyễn Thị Ngần earned her Master’s degree in Zoology from the VNU University of Science under Vietnam National University, Hanoi. She has served as principal investigator and participant in several scientific research projects at different levels, and has authored nearly 10 publications in both international and domestic journals. Ms. Nguyễn Thị Ngần was awarded the NAGAO Scholarship for graduate students and spent time conducting scientific research exchanges at the laboratory of the Kyoto University Museum, Japan.

Her current research interests include:
❖ Taxonomy and Molecular Systematics
❖ Genome Sequencing and DNA Barcoding
❖ Biodiversity Monitoring using Environmental DNA (eDNA)
❖ Ecology and Population Genetics
❖ Biodiversity Conservation

Mr. Nguyễn Thanh Lương earned his Master’s degree in Zoology from the Graduate University of Science and Technology under the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology. He has participated in numerous scientific research projects at various levels and has published 16 papers indexed in ISI and Scopus journals. Mr. Nguyễn Thanh Lương was honored with the Outstanding Young Researcher Award 2024 from the Institute of Ecology and Biological Resources under the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology. He is currently pursuing his Ph.D. studies at the Graduate University of Science and Technology.

His current research interests include:
❖ Diversity and conservation studies of mammal species
❖ Biological characteristics and distribution of bat species
❖ Epidemiological factors associated with wildlife species
❖ Ectoparasites of bats and their host relationships
❖ Common viral strains found in bats and the risk of zoonotic transmission from bats to humans
